All of our speech language pathologists are extensively trained, professional, and reliable. They have a master’s degree in speech language pathology and are in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
Speech language pathologists are recognized by the following protected titles/designations: speech- language pathologist, speech pathologist, speech therapist, SLP and R.SLP.
Speech pathologists at Maple Leaf Speech and Language Services are specialized in early-intervention, assessment, diagnosis and management of communication disorders. Our speech therapists work directly with clients of all ages and their families/caregivers.
Our services are also provided by Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs), who work under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist. Speech pathologists supervise one or more speech therapy assistants.
The assistants are responsible for implementing the speech/language therapy plans created by the speech language pathologist. The speech language pathologist is primarily responsible for ensuring those plans are being executed properly.
Speech language pathologist assistants are recognized by the following protected titles/designations: Speech Language Pathologist Assistants(SLPAs), communication assistants, Communication Disorders Assistants(CDA), support personnel and /or health assistants. They are graduated from a communication health assistant program in speech language pathology.
